Christmas 2017 we visited the Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights. The Hunter Valley Gardens are located at Pokolbin in the heart of the Hunter Wine Region of New South Wales. It is a little over a 2-hour drive from Sydney or an hour from Newcastle.
The gardens more than 40 landscaped acres are transformed with over 2 million lights creating a wonderful Christmas theme for all ages to enjoy.
The display is set out in themes and so you don’t miss any of the displays you are taken through the gardens on a well laid out path which winds its way around the gardens.
For the kids or kids at heart there are a couple of rides located within the gardens for your enjoyment and if you didn’t eat before you arrived there are many food tents, so you won’t go hungry.
On the evening we went to the gardens we took a picnic and enjoyed the peaceful surrounds before entering the gardens.
Outside the entrance to the gardens is the Hunter Valley Gardens Shopping Village which is a collection of boutique shops. Surrounded by their own gardens you also have a playground for the kids, and BBQ and picnic area.
Christmas Lights can be seen at the gardens from early November to Late January. If you are in the area over the Christmas period, we highly recommend you make the time to visit the lights. For times and dates please visit their website.
